I had Bruno take a look at my 2010 GTI's ECU one year ago. He managed to take it up from 206 hp / 305 Nm to 263 hp / 430 Nm. That's 27 % more horsepower, and 40 % more torque!! On paper, or in this
review, that may sound impressive, but in reality it means I got a completely new and far better car.
I can now comfortably cruise at low RPMs in a high gear and have a low fuel consumption, or be in slow moving city / commute traffic without any hassle, like a modern diesel engine. But with the nic
e sound and smoothness of a petrol engine. At 1500 RPM there's 330 Nm of torque, and it keeps incre
asing to reach 430 at ~ 3500 RPM!
If I don't want to cruise anymore, I just press the accelerator and the car instantly leaps forward
! It's like stepping on a landmine! Except this is the sort you never regret.
I'm also very happy to say that my fuel consumption has roughly stayed the same, regardless of the
huge increase in power. The car hasn't failed me once so far, but I've taken Bruno's advice to heart: "Only quality fuel and never stress a cold engine."
This upgrade has given me a lot of bang for my buck!
